Alipay is an online transaction and payment system owned by the Taobao group in China. They claimed to have more than 11 million transaction daily and around more than 600 million registered users. It has played a singnificant role in growth of online retail business in China from RMB 1 billion to 248 billion from 2003 to 2009.
